'You & Oil' has worked really well for us. Baby has even smiled at the sight of the bottle.
At first Baby ate the wrong end of the breastmilk ice lolly. I'm not sure if they are that much better than a piece of cucumber.
Cold
Although Baby complains about their nose being sucked, it is quite effective.

Toddling Crash Helmet
We used this crash helmet when baby first started pulling up on the furniture. We took it off when they learnt to fall over onto their bum rather than their head.
